Cybercrimes are increasing significantly during the transition period. A few days ago, the data of Bhim App was leaked, after which personal information of about 70 lakh users of DigiLocker was leaked, whereas now scanned copy of Aadhaar card, PAN card, identity card and passport of more than one lakh Indians are dark web. It is reported to be available for sale. This information has been given by cybersecurity firm Cybele.
Saibal has stated in its report that this data leak took place from a third party platform and not from the government database. Personal information about people from many cities of the country is being sold on the dark web. With documents like Aadhaar card, PAN card, and passport, hackers can scam and even spy on people.
From the information on the dark web, it can be guessed that this data has been leaked through a KYC (Know Your Customer) company because the data that is present on the dark web includes Aadhaar card, PAN card and scan copy of passport.
Let me tell you that even earlier, Saibal had said in his report that personal information of 2.9 crores Indian youth searching for jobs on the dark web is available. The great thing is that there is no cost for this precious data. All data is available on the dark web for free.
The leaked data includes information like home address and mobile number including educational qualification. All these data have been leaked from the website of a big job search company in India, although the company is investigating the matter. The data leak has come from users’ resumes.
