A cybercriminal has put up a record of 4.75 crore Indians for sale. This cybercriminal claims that he has obtained this record from online directory Truecaller. He has offered to give it for Rs 75,000. Online intelligence company Cybell has given this information.
TrueColor, however, denied any breach in its database. The spokesman said that this database is being sold using the company’s name so that it looks reliable.
Saibal has written in the blog that our researchers have identified a well-known seller who is offering to sell the truckler record of 4.75 crore Indians for $ 1,000 or about Rs 75,000. This data is for 2019. We are surprised to demand such a low price for this.
The data which has been kept for sale contains the details of the phone number, women and or men, its information, city, mobile network, and Facebook ID.
Saibal said that our researchers are moving forward on their analysis. But of course, this kind of thing can affect Indians in a big way. Saibal has said that on getting more information about this, it will be put on the blog.
At the same time, a spokesperson for True caller said that there is no breach in our database. All our information is safe. We take the privacy of our users very seriously and constantly monitor suspicious activities.
The spokesman said that the company has information that in May 2019, an attempt was made to sell similar data.
