Facebook admitted users’ data was accidentally lionized with third-party apps

Facebook has accepted the mistake of sharing users’ data with third-party apps. According to TechRadar report, Facebook has said that about 5,000 app developers accidentally got access to the profiles and data of the interactive users and this is due to a bug in the platform.

Facebook Platform Partnerships VP Constantinos Papamilitadis has said that some apps were constantly receiving access to users’ data. These included unused apps for the last 90 days. He told me that this happens when the user has given access to an app when needed, but later on, he has forgotten it.

This bug has now been fixed

The company said that this bug has now been fixed. However, it was not told how many users’ data has been shared due to this mistake.
