High definition (HD) streaming was discontinued by video streaming platforms such as YouTube, Netflix, and Amazon Prime during the lockdown in March. This decision was taken only to reduce internet consumption.
Now the good news for YouTube users as HD streaming is back on YouTube. Earlier, users were able to watch videos at a maximum SD (480 pixels).
YouTube has removed the ban but the company has also placed a condition for it. Users will currently only be able to watch HD video through a Wi-Fi network. The mobile network is still under ban, but you can watch videos at 720p, 1080p, and 1440p via a Wi-Fi network.
